Theron last shared a photo of her daughters in November 2016 in honor of World Adoption Day. Even then, the photo was only of their hands. Theron adopted Jackson in 2012 and August was adopted three years later.
Theron told PEOPLE in May, “Even when I was in relationships, I was always honest with my partners, that adoption was how my family would look one day. This was definitely not a second option for me. It was always my first.”
Fishel’s son Adler (pictured here with former Boy Meets World castmate Ben Savage) was born on June 24, 2019, four weeks earlier than expected. The new mom decided that she would not be posting photos of her son’s face, explaining her decision in a lengthy Instagram post.
She shared, “Currently, @jensenkarp and I have chosen to keep Adler’s face off our social media pages. We are two people who made a conscious choice to be in the public eye and share what would normally be private moments with the public. Adler isn’t capable of making that choice for himself and until he is, we’ve decided to shield him from places where strangers can comment on him.”
Fishel expressed that it was a difficult decision for the couple, because, “I wanna show you my baby every day. He’s cuter than this 👼 but I worry about a couple things. 1. His safety. There are weirdos out there. Enough said. 2. Putting pictures and facts about him onto the internet that he doesn’t have any say in. I’d like for him to be able to curate his own footprint on the internet in the future without being mortified we posted about his his fear of swimming or his first crush.”
In a 2019 interview with PEOPLE, Kruger said that she chooses to keep her daughter’s name and face private for several reasons.
“Well first and above all, it’s safety,” Kruger said. “We have The Walking Dead empire which has a lot of very intense fandomship that comes with it.”
Elaborating about the challenges that come with admirers of her boyfriend’s zombie series, Kruger added, “We had a couple [of] incidences before her arrival that were not so fun to deal with and so my main concern’s her safety.”
“And secondly, she is an innocent, young, vulnerable baby and I think I just don’t understand why America doesn’t have better laws for children,” she continued.
Still, she has shared a few particularly sweet father-daughter moments, like this one in August 2019.

In August 2019, Spears shared a photo of her sweet family at Disneyland. It looks like they made an exception for their mom!
Lively and Reynolds also keep most photos of their kids to themselves, but it was a family affair when Ryan Reynolds was given his star on the Walk of Fame.

Every so often, Bell will post a photo of her kids, but either with their backs turned, like this photo of Delta …
Or with their faces obscured, this time with the use of an emoji.
However, Bell couldn’t resist showing the world what a great dad her husband, Shepard, is on Father’s Day.

Apple in particular is not featured heavily on her mom’s Instagram, mostly because she insists on getting some serious approval over the photos before her mom can post.
